Liverpool will take on bitter local rivals Everton in the third round of the FA Cup, in what is a cracking tie to kickstart the Premier League clubs’ involvement in the famous competition.

Jurgen Klopp’s side meet Sam Allardyce’s men on Sunday in what will prove to be a preview to the Merseyside derby in the cup in January.

Manchester United will face Derby County, while Tottenham Hotspur will meet AFC Wimbledon.

Chelsea were handed an away tie against Norwich City, while Premier League leaders Manchester City will face Burnley at home.

The third round of the FA Cup draw – which took place ahead of the second-round tie between Rochdale and Slough Town – is always known to throw up some magical fixtures, with Premier League and Championship clubs entering the fray along with the lower-league clubs, and this year’s edition is certainly no different.

There are four non-league sides remaining in the competition: AFC Fylde, Hereford, Slough and Woking – although all four still have a replay to negotiate – while Arsenal are the defending champions.

The Gunners will face Nottingham Forest away in what promises to be a tricky opener against the Championship side.

The third-round ties will take place over the course of the weekend of Saturday 6 January, 2018.
