Newcastle United are planning an offer to sign David Luiz on loan from Chelsea, according to reports.
The Brazilian is currently sidelined with a knee injury and has only featured once for the Premier League champions since his bust-up with Antonio Conte at the end of October.
The Sun claims Conte has ‘fallen out’ with Luiz, although it is unclear whether the Italian will allow the defender to leave Stamford Bridge next month.
But Rafa Benitez is looking to bolster his options ahead of Newcastle’s battle against relegation and has his eye on an ambitious deal for Luiz.

Earlier this week, reports claimed that Arsenal are also in the running to sign Luiz and are preparing a £25 million offer.
When asked about Luiz’s future on Tuesday, Conte replied: ‘I don’t read [the speculation] and I [therefore] solve the problem. I don’t read so I don’t have information about this topic.
‘As a person I am very realistic, I like to tell the truth.’
