JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Performance Measurement (ADAA) announced the launch of its website and Twitter account on Saturday.
ADAA spokesperson Mohammed Al-Nafeesa said that the center measures the performance of public bodies by applying standardized models, approaches and tools to support their adequacy and effectiveness.
“The center also submits quarterly reports to decision makers of the extent to which public bodies have achieved their strategic goals and tracks their progress in contributing to achieving Vision 2030 through their initiatives and programs in addition to supporting the improvement and development of the quality of government services in order to achieve customer satisfaction,” he said.
He added: The “ADAA adopts measurement methodologies based on the best international practices that will contribute to achieving the country’s ambitious vision.”
Al-Nafeesa explained that public bodies include ministries, public authorities and funds. “The center is considered a reference for measuring the performance of public services,” he said.
The ADAA’s importance lies in its efforts to enable decision makers to track the progress of the public agencies’ performance, as well as its support for these agencies to achieve strategic goals that contribute to fulfilling the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals in improving the efficiency of government services.
The center also provides empowerment and capacity-building programs for public bodies in order to promote the culture of performance measuring and help them adopt it by providing employees with training courses in the field of performance measurement. The center provides public bodies with specialized consulting services in the field of performance indicators and how to measure them to help them correct their course, identify and analyze risks and discover difficulties. The center also proposes the appropriate solutions for addressing challenges.
The ADAA was founded after the Cabinet approved its establishment based on the recommendation of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs. The center is an independent government body that reports directly to the prime minister and is chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the first deputy prime minister, president of the Council for Economic and Development Affairs, and minister of defense.
