Neymar scored the winner against Toulouse on Saturday, but the victory seems to have come at a cost for the Brazilian superstar.
Paris Saint-Germain opted to rest several of their star names, Edinson Cavani and Thiago Silva were left out completely, but Neymar was given the green light to play the entire game.
Neymar and PSG travel to Madrid on Wednesday night to take on Real in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie.
PSG will want Neymar firing on all cylinders and the 26-year-old was certainly in fine form against Toulouse, bagging the only goal of the game in the 68th minute.
But, Neymar seemed to have suffered a few kicks during the Ligue 1 encounter and the goalscorer shared a picture of his ankles on Instagram after the game.
The snap shows Neymar’s ankles taped up with ice and has a caption saying: ‘No pain, no gain.’
Perhaps the post is a swipe at the Toulouse players, but Real fans will be quietly hoping Neymar may not be at his best come Wednesday.
However, Neymar gave no indication of any injury concerns and looks set to start against his old rivals.
Real have been linked with a stunning move for Neymar in recent months, and the attacker is well known to the Spanish giants having played for their bitter rivals, Barcelona.
Neymar’s record breaking move to PSG last summer from Barcelona was the biggest statement of intent yet from the soon-to-be Ligue 1 champions that they are desperate to win the Champions League.
PSG cruised through the group stage, with Neymar scoring six goals in six games and laying on four assists.
Neymar has won the competition previously with Barcelona and is expected to spearhead Brazil’s efforts to claim the World Cup in Russia this summer.
