Nicosia soon to open embassy in Riyadh, says Cypriot FM

RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir on Sunday met Cypriot Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides at his office in Riyadh.

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers reviewed the ties between Saudi Arabia and Cyprus and discussed ways to enhance these relations in all fields.

Al-Jubeir told the visiting dignitary that the Kingdom appreciated the position of the Republic of Cyprus toward the Arab and regional issues.

He particularly cited Cyprus support for the legitimate government in Yemen.

The Cypriot foreign minister lauded the distinguished ties binding his country and the Kingdom.

He also announced that Cyprus would soon open its embassy in Saudi Arabia.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Adel bin Siraj Mirdad, undersecretary of the ministry for political and economic affairs. Saud Kateb, undersecretary of the ministry for diplomatic affairs; and Mean Al-Hafez, director general of the European Countries General Administration at the ministry.
