RIYADH: Spokesman for the Arab Coalition fighting to restore legitimacy in Yemen, Col. Turki Al-Malaki said the Saudi Royal Navy foiled a booby-trapped boat attack targeting the port of Jazan by Iran-backed Houthi militants.
Al-Malaki said that at 4:50am and 5:05am on Sunday morning the Saudi Royal Navy spotted the movement of two explosive-rigged boats that were being remotely controlled traveling toward the port of Jazan.
Al-Maliki said the boats were intercepted and destroyed as per the rules of engagement causing minor material damage.
The spokesman stressed that the Coalition leadership will hit anyone involved in terrorist acts that threaten the safety of citizens, residents, or the Kingdoms economic and vital capabilities with “an iron fist.”
He added that such hostilities and those involved in the planning and execution of said violence cannot go unpunished.
