US delegation visits national dialogue center in Riyadh

JEDDAH: A delegation from the US Commission on International Religious Freedom visited King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue (KACND) in Riyadh, SPA reported on Monday.
The secretary-general of the center, Dr. Abdullah Al-Fawzan, received the visiting delegation.
During the visit, the US team was briefed on most the efforts and actions being undertaken by the Kingdom at the local, regional and global levels in combating extremism and promoting the values of moderation and peace in the world.
The Riyadh-based center was founded in 2003 with the aim of strengthening national unity. One of the main objectives of the center is to formulate a correct Islamic discourse based on moderation.
It is a national organization that aims to spread the culture of dialogue and to establish it as a norm for general conduct on the levels of the individual citizen. The center also undertakes the study and discussion of issues of national importance, which effect the lives of Saudi citizens.
It regularly organizes forums at the national level across the Kingdom. The topics covered at these meetings range from unity to youths expectations.
