Another PDP neta booked under PSA

Two days after two former chief ministers, Omar Abdullah of National Conference (NC) and Mehbooba Mufti of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA), the J&K administration on Saturday slapped the stringent Act on PDP politician and former R&B minister Naeem Akhter.
On the other hand, the administration on Saturday released two more NC functionaries from detention in the MLA Hostel in Srinagar and put them under house arrest, officials said. The two are: former J&K Assembly speaker Mubarak Gul and Omars political advisor Tanvir Sadiq.
After invoking PSA against Akhter, the authorities shifted him to M5, a government house for VIPs on Gupkar Road, where NC general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar and PDP politician Sartaj Madni are already under detention since Thursday. PSA was slapped on Sagar and Madni last week.
PSA was first applied on Omars father and former CM Farooq Abdullah nearly six months ago. With the slapping of PSA on Akhter, the number of top politicians booked under the Act has risen to six. Read More – Source
