S Korean firms Indian subsidiary produces rapid antibody test kits

NEW DELHI: A South Korean company, SD Biosensor, has set up an Indian subsidiary becoming the first foreign company to produce rapid antibody test kits in India. Manufacturing from a plant in Haryana, it can produce 500,000 kits per week, said the Indian embassy in Seoul.
"The first batch was rolled out on April 19, 2020. This is an excellent example of Indias Make in India For World as the company plans to ramp up production to meet growing demand in India as well as other parts of the world," said the embassy in a statement, adding that the company was granted licence to manufacture the kits here in a very short period of time.
