City-origin employer’s plea asking for H-1B visa holders to return to country

HYDERABAD: A city-origin employer in the US is behind a petition to the White House asking for H-1B visa holders to be allowed to return to the country.
The petition on We the People, by Dan Nandan, CEO of Hire IT People, Inc, aims to allow all H-1B holders back once consulates open up following the pandemic. The petition states, “They (H-1B visa holders) stepped out of the US leaving everything behind – home, jobs, family, and kids hoping to return in a few weeks. But consulates got closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and they are still outside the US.”
It further said that now the consulates are opening up, all existing those who travelled before June 22, are still stuck because of a ban imposed by the Trump administration. “This illogical discrimination completely uproots their careers and lives they have built so far in the US,” reads the petition.
