Jose Mourinho branded his Manchester United side ‘childish’ after they threw away two points against Leicester City on Saturday.

Two goals from Juan Mata appeared to have sealed a comeback victory for United after they had fallen behind to Jamie Vardy’s opener.

Marucs Rashford, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard, who hit the post when he had an open goal to aim at, missed a string of chances to wrap up the game before Harry Maguire slid home an injury time equaliser, much to Mourinho’s annoyance.

He said: ‘We didn’t win because we miss incredible chances, I would say joke chances.

‘And then in the last second of the game we make a big defensive mistake.

‘So it is an accumulation of mistakes in an easy match to win. And I told to the players at halftime: Easy match to win.

‘At the end no maturity there was because Smalling was in trouble, they put Maguire as an extra man.

‘The players on the pitch did not react to that and analyse and make a big adjustment so childish in their box and childish in our box.’
