Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 4 is now a few days old, and the landscape has changed. Thats because the giant blue comet that dominated speculation in the just-concluded Season 3 has smashed Dusty Depot into a huge crater and made an impact in other areas of the map.
Ah, but its more than a hole in the ground. Theres a government installation in the middle of the crater, and there are other surprises awaiting on new areas of the map. Glowing rocks from the comet also bestow new powers on players. A new Battle Pass and weekly challenges are online, which basically work as they have in the past. There is a Week 1 challenge secret, though, that will enable players to level up and get an Omega skin.
Completing all seven Week 1 challenges will allow players to reach a screen called Quiet on the Set. This is part of letting you customize whta you see during the pre-match loading screen.
Movie making equipment has also been added to the island in the new update.
So far, finding the new areas on the map is a challenge, even though some of them seem key to this seasons storyline. The first is whats become known as the Superhero Mansion just below Lonely Lodge, and theres also a location outside of Snobby Shores.
The Superhero Mansion has the requisite secret laid beneath the house,, including a blue cowl on a display head, and gathering places for an assembly of fellow heroes to plan whatever adventures await.
Its counterpart, the Super Villain house, is a skull-shaped mountain hideout, the perfect accessory for plotting world domination. Theres also a missle, purpose unknown at the moment, but undoubtedly something that will play a large role as the season unfolds.
For players, the Season 4 Battle Pass has new rewards, including new cosmetic items, emotes and Sprays.
A movie marathon is the feature in Save the Worlds latest questline, Blockbuster! Part 1 starts with Five quests and one Landmark Mission. Ray has gone missing and no one knows where she is. With the help of Spitfire and Lok, investigate the comet and gear up to recruit a team of superheroes. The mission is to find Ray and bring her back home.
