JEDDAH: A medical team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), headed by Deputy Director of the Department of Medical and Environmental Assistance, Dr. Abdullah Al-Wadai, inspected on Monday a prosthetic limbs center in Marib, Yemen, which is funded by KSRelief for the second consecutive year.
Dr. Al-Wadai explained that the aim of the visit to the center, which provides qualitative services, was to view the progress of the work, implement the specifications of the contract with the partner organization tasked with the operation and ensure that services are provided.
He noted that the center fitted 305 prosthetic limbs, last year, to those affected by the one million mines planted by Houthi militias in Yemen, adding the most affected groups were women and children.
Dr. Al-Wadai said: “The Center has received hundreds of prostheses. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is working hard to establish the center and at enabling Yemenis to operate it by themselves, through the training of medical staff and organizing specialized courses.
