JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned Israels continued settlement building in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem.
The Israeli authorities have reportedly approved the construction of 2,070 residential units inside the Palestinian territory.
The OIC said the continuation of illegal settlements is a flagrant violation of the international law and Geneva Conventions.
Yousef Al-Othaimeen, the OIC secretary-general, said the Israeli settlement policy is a challenge to the will of the international community.
He called on the international community to take appropriate measures to check the situation and to ensure enforcement of international laws.
Al-Othaimeen called on the international parties to hold the occupying forces accountable for their aggression against the Palestinian people.
The Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO) also condemned the international silence over the Israeli brutalities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the ARCO deplored the repeated attacks on paramedics by the occupying forces. The Israeli forces reportedly shot dead five paramedics, including the 22-year-old Palestinian, Razan Ashraf Al-Najjar.
