TheFace: Najla Almunajem, fashion designer

Najla Almunajem, born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has a bachelors degree in economics and two masters degrees in law and investments.

She studied fashion design and collection production at the University of the Arts London, where she found her true calling as she had exhibited a strong passion for all things related to art from an early age. What started as a passion became her profession.

She launched her own label in early 2017 and runs the atelier with her team, who tailor every element of the design process to the client, with dedicated personal fittings forming an integral part of her couture experience.

“My journey was never free of obstacles,” Almunajem said. “But I was able to overcome them with hard work and the support of my father, Ahmed, which has always given me the drive to be persistent. I can say that he is the hero behind the scenes.”

Almunajem works at the Saudi Stock Exchange, as well as running her fashion business. “It is hard to work two full-time jobs and to study for two masters degrees but I can for sure say that living a life with no purpose or passion is even harder,” she said.
