RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) signed three executive agreements to provide medical treatment at private hospitals in Aden and Taiz for 500 wounded and injured Yemenis.

Abdulmajeed Al Humaydhi, a KSRelief spokesman, told Arab News on Friday that Ahmed Al Baiz, assistant supervisor general of operations and programs at KSrelief, signed the executive agreements at the centers headquarters in Riyadh on Thursday in the presence of Nasser Mohsen Baaoum, the Yemeni Minister of Public Health and Population.

Al Baiz said that these projects would facilitate comprehensive medical care for injured patients in Yemen, including 200 in Taiz and 150 in each of the two Aden hospitals, which are partners in cooperation and included in the executive agreement.

Prior to these agreements, KSRelief funded treatment for 5,697 injured and wounded Yemenis in private hospitals in Yemen.

And stepping up its humanitarian effort with medical relief and assistance in health care, the KSRelief announced three specialized medical teams last month to provide treatment to injured Yemenis in Marib, Taiz and Aden.

The medical team included doctors with specialization in different fields including neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, specialists in spinal surgery, ENT, plastic surgery and anesthesia.

The medical assistance provided medical equipment, supplies as well as operation theater equipment and surgery sets to the hospitals in the three locations.

KSRelief recently sent specialized medical teams to Hodeidah to help the people.

The center also provided medical supplies, medicines and medical devices to the Yemeni hospital to prepare health infrastructure and conduct specialized quality operations within Yemen.

Al Baiz said that these projects were part of KSReliefs cooperation with the Yemen High Relief Committee represented by the Ministry of Public Health and Population and international and local aid partners to provide medical relief and health care to Yemenis both inside and outside of their country.
