Joint field campaigns: 1,483,009 violators of residency, employment and border security regulations

JEDDAH: The joint field campaigns, launched from Nov. 16 2017 and ending Jul. 26 2018 to track down and arrest violators of residency, work and border security regulations, has concluded.
The campaigns were carried out in all regions of the Kingdom and resulted in the following:
First: The total number of violators caught in the joint field campaigns in all regions of the Kingdom was 1,483,009, including 1,120,406 violators of the residency regulations, 246,483 violators of the work regulations, and 116,120 violators of the border security regulations.
Second: The total number of those arrested while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom was 28,427, 54 percent, of whom were Yemeni citizens, 43 percent Ethiopians, and 3 percent other nationalities. Moreover, 1,049 persons were caught for attempting to cross the border out of the Kingdom.
Third: The total number of those caught for their involvement in transferring or sheltering of violators of residency, work and border security regulations was 2,319.
Fourth: The total number of citizens arrested for being involved in transporting or sheltering illegal entrants was 474. Legal procedures have been completed for 458 and they were released, while procedures are being completed for the other 16 Saudi detainees.
Fifth: The total number of those subjected to the procedures of implementation of the regulations is 11,844 foreign violators: 9,933 men and 1,911 women.
Sixth: Immediate penalties were imposed against 254,214 violators, while 206,674 were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents. Moreover, 255,932 violators were referred to complete their travel reservations, and 377,572 were deported.
