7th AGFUND Development Forum kicks off in Geneva

JEDDAH: Under the patronage of Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz, president of Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND), the 7th AGFUND Development Forum kicked off in Geneva on Monday.

In an opening speech, delivered on his behalf, Prince Abdul Aziz bin Talal expressed hope that the AGFUND Forum will meet what everyone looks forward to. He also expressed his happiness to participate in this forum for discussing important issues.

He said the development, which meets the demands of life and sustainability, is a key factor in preparing such people who can participate and contribute to the progress of their society.

He urged the media to play its role in raising awareness of the “2030 Sustainable Development Goals.”

AGFUND is a regional organization based in Riyadh. It was established in 1980 upon the initiative of Prince Talal.

AGFUND works mainly in the field of development and growth at the international level through an effective partnership with the UN and other regional and national development organizations. Through the implementation of its programs, AGFUND provides support to needy groups to help facilitate their full access to basic and fundamental social requirements, such as education.
