Ports authority promotes KSA at maritime expo

JEDDAH: Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) is taking part in the 9th edition of Seatrade Maritime Middle East Expo as a golden sponsor.
Considered the regions biggest maritime exhibition, the three-day event began on Monday in Dubai.
The ports authority will highlight the Kingdoms efforts in improving services at its nine ports. Saudi Arabia is taking all measures to make its ports on a par with other developed ports across the world and to increase their capabilities to cater to the needs of an ever-increasing traffic.
The Saudi delegates will also exchange information with experts in the field and will promote brand KSA to attract foreign investors.
The Kingdom is working relentlessly to build a solid ground for the status of Saudi Ports Authority as a leader of ports sector which links the national economy with the international market.
The ports underwent various stages of construction and development from the foundation of Saudi Arabia up until the General Ports Organization was established in 1976. This was followed by the establishment and inauguration of several ports until 1997, when port operations were handed to the private sector.
