Govt to push for law to check child porn menace

NEW DELHI: The government is likely to push for legislation on curbing child pornography after a parliamentary ad hoc committee reported to the House the “serious menace” of child porn and made 40 recommendations to the government, including calling for mandatory apps on all devices and filters to regulate childrens access to pornography content.
The government has so far told Parliament it is taking several steps to curb pornography through social media platforms. Rajya Sabha chairman M Venkaiah Naidu, who had constituted the committee, called for wider discussions in Parliament over the issue.
