Rahul Gandhi’s ‘late’ retort prompts ‘tubelight’ taunt by PM Modi

NEW DELHI: While taking repeated digs at the opposition, PM Narendra Modi osn Thursday responded with a "tubelight" jibe to the recent outburst of Congress's Rahul Gandhi, who had said the youth would soon start beating the PM with sticks and confine him to his home.
Though Modi didn't name Rahul, he said, "I heard the manifesto of a Congress member yesterday. He said he will beat Modi with sticks in the next six months… I will prepare myself by increasing the frequency of 'Surya Namaskar' so that my back is ready for the beating. I have been subjected to abuses in the past 20 years, I have made myself myself gaali-proof (abuse-proof)."
As Modi was speaking, Rahul got up to question him on the issue of unemployment among youth, prompting the PM to say he had been waiting for the Congress MP's reaction but it had taken a while. "I have been speaking for 30-40 minutes but it took this long for the current to reach (the Congress benches)… Many tubelights are like this,"PM said.
