SRINAGAR: Terrorists fired upon a CRPF party on Tuesday, killing a paramilitary trooper in Bijbehara area of south Kashmirs Anantnag district. The attackers also lobbed a grenade on the security personnel, but it didnt explode and was later defused by the bomb disposal squad in Sangam area, said a senior police officer.
The jawan, Shiv Lal, sustained bullet injuries in his chest in the attack and was rushed to Bijbehara sub-district hospital in a critical condition. Doctors there referred him to the government medical college and hospital in Anantnag for specialised treatment, but he succumbed on the way.
