Online tracker brings together all govt orders on travel for migrant labourers

NEW DELHI: Given that lakhs of migrant workers are stranded in cities where they work and many are wanting to return to their villages, a first of its kind online tracker is now trying to connect the dots by putting in one place all available central and state government orders, procedures and information related to movement and travel of migrants during the ongoing lockdown.
To quell confusion, volunteer led online portal Covid-India.in in partnership with volunteers from Stranded Workers Action Network (SWAN) have put together all information on the tracker migrants.covid-india.in that tells you the state specific procedures for migrants so far. This includes information on the documents required and where they can seek assistance.
This separate page on travel of migrants was added later last week to the main covid-india.in portal which lists all government and court orders around Covid-19 related to social security, welfare and justice. Anandita Adhikari from SWAN explained that page on travel of migrants attempts to prevent confusion, put all information in one place and reach the vast network of voluntary organisations and stakeholders working in the field to assist migrants reach their destinations amidst the lock down.
So, if one visits the page it allows you to check for information by typing in the state from where the migrant wants to travel and asks for his or her destination state. Next one gets a detailed list of procedureRead More – Source
