RJD leader is opposition candidate for RS post

NEW DELHI: RJDs Manoj Jha will file nomination as the joint opposition candidate for the post of deputy chairman of Rajya Sabha, setting the stage for an election that seems settled in favour of the ruling combine headed by BJP.
Jha is being supported by 12 opposition parties led by Congress. The others are SP, DMK, TMC, JMM, Shiv Sena and Left among others. However, their joint strength is unlikely to be a match for the ruling combine which has again fielded Harivansh of JD(U).
