Paswan stands with son’s decisions amid LJP’s growing discontent against Nitish

NEW DELHI: Throwing his weight behind the LJP chief Chirag Paswan, the party patron and Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan said on Friday that he stands by all decisions of his son. Paswan himself made it public that he has been hospitalised and was doing well in an emotional tweet saying he was confident of Chirag taking Bihar to a new height.
In a series of tweets, the Union minister said, “I stand firmly with every decision of his. I am confident that with his youthful thinking, Chirag will take the party and Bihar to new heights.” He also tweeted that he was happy that Chirag has been with him at this time and was doing all possible service. “Along with taking care of me, he is also fulfilling his responsibilities towards the party,” Paswan tweeted.

Senior Paswans tweets came at a time when Chirag has been at loggerheads with Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar over several issues and amid high speculation whether the two parties will coexist as partners in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar ahead of the assembly polls.
This is not the first time when the LJP founder has backed his son. Even soon after the 2014 Lok Sabha election, he had given the credit of LJPs decision to join hands with BJP to Chirag. Just before Chirag was made the party president, Paswan in November 2018 had announced that Chirag would be the “final authority” in all party matters.
Sources in LJP said leaders and workers have alerted the party president about the declining popularity of Nitish Kumar and this may not be of any help. They added as of now no talk has started about the alliance or about seat-sharing. Sources said so far no BJP leader has made any comment or observation about LJP questioning the NitishRead More – Source
