J&K police seize 7kg heroin, arrest one

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday foiled a narcotics smuggling bid and arrested one person with 7kg heroin worth crores. This was the second big drug seizure for Rajouri Police after a youth was arrested from Ninganar Thandikassi area with 670g heroin five days ago.
Sharing details, Rajouri SSP Chandan Kohli said, “A police team on naka duty signalled a vehicle to halt for routine checking. During search of the vehicle, 7kg of heroin — kept clandestinely and in a professional manner — was recovered. The driver, identified as Tariq Ahmed, a resident of Bachro Kulgam, was arrested on the spot and the vehicle was seized.”
