Racing legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. said if he had not followed in the footsteps of his father, he would be a mechanic.
The retired NASCAR driver-turned NBC analyst explained on AT&T AUDIENCE Network’s “The Dan Patrick Show” that he worked on cars and even got an automotive degree at a technical college before he finally made it to NASCAR’s “minor league” circuit.
“I think if I wasn’t racing, I’d be a mechanic in either automotive, dealerships or I might be a mechanic on the road for a race team,” Earnhardt told host Dan Patrick. “Who’s to say I wouldn’t be working in motorsports as a mechanic or road crew?”
