The Milwaukee Brewers avoided arbitration with reliever Jeremy Jeffress on Friday, signing the veteran to a one-year contract with club options for 2019 and 2020.

Jeffress returned to the Brewers on July 31 after he was traded to the Texas Rangers alongside catcher Jonathan Lucroy on Aug. 1, 2016. He made 22 appearances (one start) for the Brewers last season, posting a 3.65 ERA and a 1.581 WHIP.
Originally drafted by the Brewers in 2006, Jeffress has also spent time with the Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays. He has a 3.34 ERA and a 1.443 WHIP in 271 career appearances.
Milwaukee also agreed to a one-year deal with catcher Stephen Vogt, and tendered contracts to right-handed pitcher Corey Knebel, right-handed pitcher Jimmy Nelson, utility man Hernan Perez and second baseman Jonathan Villar.
