Paul Pogba has no basic understanding of his position and will probably never learn, claims Graeme Souness.
Souness has criticised Pogba in the past and has clearly not changed his position on the world’s third most expensive player.
Pogba has inspired a return to goalscoring form for United since returning from injury and his chipped pass to Romelu Lukaku kicked off a comeback win against CSKA.
But, Souness was not impressed with the midfielder.

‘When he is on the ball, there’s lots of things to admire,’ Souness said on TV3.
‘He’s powerful, he’s got good technique, he can wrong foot people, he can ping the ball.
‘Where I question him, whether he’ll ever be a top player, is his understanding of the game.
‘This isn’t me being an ex-Liverpool player caning a Man Utd player. I thought the same when he was a Juventus player.’
Pogba’s influential display against CSKA, coupled with a brilliant performance from Marcus Rashford, ensured United finished top of their Champions League group but Souness was far from impressed
He continued: ‘That is basic stuff you learn in the youth team.
