Boxing legend, and five-weight world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., made a return to Russia this week on a surprise visit to his gym on the outskirts of Moscow amid rumours he will make a comeback.
Mayweather was snapped with fans at ‘The Money Team’ boxing gym in the capital’s Zhukova suburb Thursday, where he also filmed young hopefuls training in the ring on his cell phone. Those lucky enough to grab a photo included former UFC light heavyweight star Nikita Krylov.
Mayweather was last in the Russian capital in March, while on the Russian leg of ‘The Money Tour’ to greet fans and open the state-of-the-art ’ boxing academy. There, he spoke about a possible fight with Irish UFC superstar Conor McGregor. That fight eventually came to fruition, with Mayweather pummelling a spent McGregor into a 10th round TKO defeat to move his unbeaten record to 50-0.

The 40-year-old has been out of action since his hybrid fight with McGregor in Las Vegas, in which he is thought to have earned an estimated $230m. Mayweather is called ‘Money’ for a reason, and in typical flash fashion, has since been rumoured to be mulling a ring return that will likely generate similar sky-high revenue.

Last month, in a video on instagram, Mayweather displayed devastating hand speed while training on the punch bag, leading many fans to believe that a comeback is on the cards.
