Michy Batshuayi wants to leave Chelsea on loan next month to boost his hopes of making Belgium’s World Cup squad, reports say.
Batshuayi, a £33million signing from Marseille last year, has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge and fears his place in Roberto Martinez’s squad is under threat.
The 24-year-old scored the goal that clinched the Premier League title last term but was forced to play back-up to Diego Costa throughout a frustrating campaign.

This season has been no different for Batshuayi, with Alvaro Morata replacing Costa as Chelsea’s first-choice striker and Batshuayi yet again struggling for regular game-time.
Even when former Real Madrid ace Morata was ruled out of Tuesday’s clash against Huddersfield Town, Antonio Conte decided to play Eden Hazard as a false nine rather than putting his faith in Batshuayi.

According to the Evening Standard, Batshuayi is actively looking to leave on loan when the January transfer window opens. The Belgian wants regular first-team football, particularly given the World Cup in Russia is just six months away.

It is also claimed Chelsea have considered using Batshuayi as a bargaining tool in a deal to sign France midfielder Thomas Lemar from Monaco.
Morata is expected to return for the Blues in Saturday’s home clash against Southampton.
