Leroy Sane is available for Manchester City’s clash with West Ham but Pep Guardiola admits he is ‘worried’ that the winger could miss the derby against Manchester United due to suspension.
The Germany international was absent for City’s 2-1 win over Southampton on Wednesday evening due to illness but has recovered in time to train ahead of Sunday’s fixture against West Ham.
Sane is also running the risk of being suspended for the Manchester derby on December 10 as he is currently on four yellow cards, and should he pick up a fifth in the game against West Ham, it would result in a one-match ban.
Guardiola is mindful of Sane’s predicament and has hinted that the winger could be handed a reduced role against West Ham.
‘He [Sane] was sick,’ said City’s manager. ‘He had fever the day of the game against Southampton.
‘And now yesterday he was in the training session.
