Sean Dyche has confirmed that Matthew Lowton is a major doubt for Burnley’s clash with Leicester City on Saturday.
The 28-year-old right-back suffered a knee injury in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last Sunday and subsequently missed the 2-1 win away to Bournemouth on Wednesday evening.
And ahead of Burnley’s trip to Leicester, Dyce admits Lowton is unlikely to recover in time.
‘Matt Lowton, I doubt it, a very minor medial ligament… we’ll have to keep an eye on that one,’ said the Burnley manager.

‘I doubt he’ll be fit for the weekend. Everyone else is fit.
‘We made a show of being open-minded about all the different challenges – Leicester will be another one.’
Phil Bardsley is likely to deputise at right-back after taking Lowton’s place against Bournemouth.
