Angel Gomes fueled rumours that he’s set to leave Manchester United by ‘liking’ a picture of Manchester City’s stars celebrating their win at Old Trafford.
The 17-year-old forward, who has made one first-team appearance for the Red Devils, is yet to sign professional terms with the Premier League giants and is being heavily linked with a move away from the club.
It’s understood both Barcelona and Juventus are keeping close tabs on Gomes’ contract situation at Old Trafford and the youngster’s antics on Sunday afternoon may be of concern to United and Jose Mourinho.
Following City’s 2-1 victory over United, the England Under-18 star ‘liked’ Brahim Diaz photograph on Instagram of City’s players celebrating their victory.
Diaz, like Gomes, is being tipped for big things in the future but is yet to play for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Reports suggest United fear Gomes could be on his way to Nou Camp and the forward’s father recently sent a warning to Mourinho amid Barca’s interest.
Asked about his son following England’s triumph at the U17 World Cup, Gil Gomes told RTP: ‘He is the youngest player in the history of English football of Manchester United.
‘So the qualities are really above average.
‘And today he is a player coveted by all the greats of Europe.’
