Sanchez has been a hugely influential figure at the Emirates since Arsenal signed him from Barcelona for £32million in the summer of 2014.
With 80 goals in 163 games for the Gunners, Sanchez has helped Arsenal win two FA Cups and has bagged the club’s Player of the Year award twice.
But his popularity in north London is waning as he refuses to put pen to paper over a contract extension, despite his current deal expiring in the summer and Arsenal offering lucrative terms.
The 29-year-old was close to joining Manchester City on deadline day last summer and was said to be disappointed that the switch to the Etihad fell through.
Despite struggling this season to live up to the heights he reached during the previous campaign, Sanchez scored a brace to help Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 3-2 on Thursday.
But his goals led to yet more controversy as a number of Arsenal players declined the opportunity to join in with his celebrations.
The Daily Mail say this was further proof that many Arsenal stars – along with some members of the backroom staff – are ‘sick’ of Sanchez and hope he finally leaves next month.
Arsene Wenger attempted to downplay the significance of the lack of celebrations, saying he was not aware of it, but it is claimed the Frenchman is ready to consider offers for Sanchez.
However, the Chile international is said to favour a move to Manchester City next summer, meaning Arsenal may lose Sanchez for free.
Speaking about the interest in his player after the Palace victory, Wenger said: ‘First of all nobody knows what will happen really. It’s difficult to speculate.
‘At the moment we are focused on short-term, that means the next game (against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday) with the players committed and ready to fight.
‘It’s not a guarantee of how long you stay somewhere. As long as you are somewhere, you give your best.
‘I felt he was very good tonight from the first minute on, focused on the game. This kind of Sanchez is a great football player, as we know. That’s the kind of performance we want from him.’
