What Indian professor couple did to bring down body temp on way out of Wuhan

AGRA: Ashish Yadav (35), associate professor of photonic and plasmonic at Wuhan Textile University, and wife Neha Yadav (30), pursuing her PhD in computer science, were among 112 brought to Delhi from Wuhan by C-17 Globemaster of IAF.
Married in November 2018, the couple started living together in apartment allotted by Wuhan University a year later, although Ashish had been living in Wuhan for much longer time.
At around 6:45 am on Thursday, the heavy lifting military cargo airplane brought the couple along with 36 foreign nationals and others. All are currently at ITBP quarantine facility in Chhawla.
Overwhelmed after the arrival in India, the couple spoke to TOI over phone after physical fitness check in quarantine facility.
“On Wednesday mid-noon, Indian embassy contacted us and informed about evacuation operation. On way to Wuhan airport, at six different locations our body temperature was recorded. Owing to anxiety, the temperature of scores of passengers rose to above 37 degree Celsius. But quick thinking of Indian officials helped all of us get clearance,” said Yadav, who originally hails from Jalesar of Etah district, but lives in Agra city.
He said, “We had been warned by Chinese authorities, that whosoever body temperature rose to 37 degree or above will not be allowed to board the plane. Therefore, at multiple locations, our body temperature was check. Due to anxiety at one point, my body temperature touched 37 degree, and I was flagged by Chinese officials after which I drank several litres of water, pop-in paracetamol and stayed in only one T-shirt while the temperature in Wuhan was between 8 to 11 degree Celsius to bring my body temperature below 37 degree.”
