Lashkar module busted: 4 terrorists, 3 OGWs arrested

SRINAGAR: Security forces on Friday busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module in Handwara town in south Kashmirs Kupwara district and arrested four terrorists and three overground workers (OGWs) of the proscribed outfit. SRINAGAR: During searches, cops seized a sizeable amount of arms and ammunition, besides several LeT letter pads from them.
On the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, police carried out raids in Kupwara and Baramulla districts and arrested the OGWs, identified as Azad Ahmad Bhat of Shalpore in Kupwaras Langate, Altaf Baba of Rafiabad in Baramullas Sopore, and Irshad Ahmad of Silikote in Baramullas Uri.
During questioning, police learnt that the LeT affiliates were motivating the youth of the area to join militancy by providing them with arms and ammunition. “They also supplied weapons to some who had recently joined the outfit and were operating in Handwara,” a police officer said.
Based on the information provided by the OGWs, a joint team of Armys 21 RR, 30 RR, CRPFs 92 Bn and Handwara Police launched a search operation in Handwaras Gund Chogal village early on Friday and arrested four terrorists, identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Chopan, Read More – Source
