Rajasthan Congress smells plot to ‘destabilise govt’ in state

Congress sends MLAs to a private resort ahead of Rajya Sabha polls

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Congress on Wednesday convened a meeting of its MLAs and Independents supporting the party at a resort ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections due on June 19 even as it expressed apprehensions of a plot to "destabilise the popularly elected government in the state."
Sources in the Congress said the move came after the party received information that Congress MLAs were being "approached with attractive offers."
Congress chief whip in the assembly Mahesh Joshi approached the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Wednesday, seeking investigation into charges of inducements being offered to his party MLAs. He, however, did not name any party or people behind the alleged move.
