Senior IPS officer files complaint against J&K DGP Dilbagh Singh

SRINAGAR: A top IPS officer has triggered a major controversy in Jammu and Kashmir by filing a police complaint against his own boss, director general police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh. He also requested police to take cognizance of “threats to his life and liberty” without mentioning from whom.
Basant Rath, a 2000 batch IPS officer, presently posted as IG (home guards) in J&K, has filed a complaint at the Gandhi Nagar police station in Jammu. Rath, however, has asked SHO-Gandhi Nagar to record his complaint only in the Daily Diary and not lodge an FIR against Singh. “I am not asking you to lodge an FIR against the person mentioned above. I am just asking you to make this letter a part of the Daily Dairy in your police station. Today, now in case something bad happens to me, you should know whose number you should dial,” Rath said in his compliant.
“I expect you to acknowledge this letter. You can send me a screenshot on my WhatsApp number 9419XXXXXX. Or you can send me a DM on twitter. Im @kangricarrier there,” Rath further wrote.
SHO-Gandhi Nagar G Choudhary, however, told TOI, “I have not seen the letter.”
Earlier this month, Rath, in a tweet had hinted that Dilbagh Singh supposedly owns a big estate in Jammu. “Hi Dilbag Singh. Can I call you Dilloo? Are you the one who owns 50 canals (six acres) of land in Sarore near the dental college in Jammu? Is it registered on your name?” he tweetRead More – Source
