“The Indian Army has already sent hotline message to the counterpart PLA establishment at the border point in Arunachal Pradesh. Response is awaited,” Rijiju tweeted a day after Arunachal Pradesh government launched a ground probe at Nacho circle in the district, the home to the five youths, to verify the messages on social media by their family members about their abduction.

“We were expecting some information by this evening but we are yet to get any news from the ground,” a state government official said.

The five youths were engaged by Army as porters and had gone to the border area and two of their friends, who managed to retuned home, told villagers that the five have been abducted from Sera-7 area, an Army patrolling area located on the border and about 12 km further north of Nacho.
