Manchester United are on the verge of signing Malmo wonderkid Lucas Gomes, according to the Swedish club’s director Mikael Brandrup.
The Red Devils invited Gomes for trials in October and it’s understood the promising 14-year-old forward greatly impressed United officials at the club’s Carrington training base.

Malmo are desperate to keep hold of Gomes, but it appears the highly-rated youngster is set for an imminent move to Old Trafford.
Asked about the teenager attacker, Malmo director Brandrup told Skanesport: ‘Lucas was in Manchester for week 44 and unfortunately I do not think we’ll keep him.
‘He moved here from Karlskrona in the autumn of 2016 to go to our sports school and, of course, he might have to wait until he left the school before moving back.
‘But I understand he’s impressed with United.’
Gomes claimed he was ‘really looking forward’ to his trials at United back in October.
‘It will be a lot fun and I will trial as well as play with them,’ the attacker said.
