JEDDAH: The Jamarat facilities in Mina have completed preparations and are waiting to receive the Hajj pilgrims on Tuesday for the ritual stoning of the devil.
The relevant authorities have arranged facilities for the pilgrims, including ventilation, air conditioning, maintenance and other services for pilgrims to perform their rituals with convenience and ease.
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs launched the Umbrella Project, providing pilgrims with umbrellas and air conditioning fans with sprays to reduce temperatures. It has also set up escalators, service buildings, routes for the new paths, and surveillance cameras to enhance the mechanisms of controlling the flow of pilgrims in the direction of signage posts, guidance and awareness installations and information services.
The preparations fall within the framework of the fourth and final phase of the project to modernize the Jamarat facilities and related works.
The Ministrys projects included the implementation and installation of fixed cameras along the pathways leading to the sites and other mobile cameras controlled by a team in an independent room to follow and disperse the movement of pilgrims in a balanced and adjusted rate of flow, consistent with the general plans to serve pilgrims.
The network of cameras extends to the end of Muzdalifah, the yards of the Jamarat to monitor the movement of pilgrims in the various sections of the Jamarat facility, including its slopes and exits.
Large television screens have also been installed in the pilgrimsn camps and the major convergence points to broadcast guidance messages and support services.
