JEDDAH: Mediation reports issued by the Amicable Settlement Departments of labor offices are now recognized as “enforceable documents” that can be directly filed to the enforcement judiciary, similar to those issued by other mediation entities, the Justice Ministry has announced.
These mediation reports can be filed online via the ministry portal (www.moj.gov.sa) without having to visit any court.
If the report includes financial claims, the enforcement judge issues — after thorough verification of the documents — an invoice that is sent to the debtors mobile phone. If they do not settle the invoice within five days, they shall be subject to the penalties in Article 46 of the Enforcement Law, including a travel ban.
It is noteworthy that enforcement courts received 2,704 authenticated mediation reports last year. They are instantly verified by the courts.
Recently, more types of documents were announced by the ministry as “enforceable documents,” including employment contracts. The goal is to protect the rights of all parties and fast-track the resolution of disputes.
