Onion auction halted

The Centres decision to ban export of onions sparked off a farmers stir, with no auction at Lasalgaon in Maharashtra on Tuesday while hundreds of loaded trucks were stranded on the India-Bangladesh border in Malda.
The average wholesale price at Lasalgaon was Rs 1,900 per quintal on Tuesday, from the Rs 3,000 on Monday.
