US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang on Sunday before landing in Seoul on a whirlwind diplomatic visit to the region.
“Had a good trip to Pyongyang to meet with Chairman Kim,” Pompeo tweeted. “We continue to make progress on agreements made at Singapore Summit. Thanks for hosting me and my team.”
A US official added that the visit was “better than the last time” but further efforts were needed.

The official, who was part of Pompeos delegation, indicated some progress was made during the visit, which included a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, but added: “Its going to be a long haul.”
The visit was Pompeos fourth to the North Korean capital. US President Donald Trump met Kim in Singapore in June for the first-ever summit between the countries.
